Komerz Acquires Glassbox to Target India's Digital Commerce Market

On March 10, 2026, London-based commerce platform Komerz announced the acquisition of marketing consultancy Glassbox, as part of a strategic effort to enhance its capabilities in India's expanding digital commerce market. This acquisition comes at a time when the Indian digital commerce sector is projected to grow to nearly $345 billion by 2030, an attractive opportunity that Komerz aims to capitalise on.

Komerz stated that this integration will combine marketing strategy, distribution, and performance measurement capabilities into a single cohesive platform. It marks a significant step for the company in merging its commerce infrastructure and cross-border distribution network with the brand strategy and marketing transformation expertise of Glassbox. The company emphasised that such an integrated approach will allow brands to connect their marketing activities to measurable sales outcomes more effectively.

Ramesh Krishnamurthy, a representative from Komerz, highlighted that this acquisition is intended to strengthen the company's ability to link brand building with commercial performance, thereby bridging the gap between marketing and sales. Furthermore, Siddharth Shankar noted that the new structure aims to address the fragmentation currently present in the marketing ecosystem by synchronising creative development with distribution efforts.

Glassbox, established in 2021 by Geetanjali Bhattacharji and Anil Nair, has focused on consulting organisations on brand strategy, communications, and marketing transformation. Bhattacharji remarked that this integration reflects broader changes in how brands engage with marketing and commerce in increasingly digital-first environments. Nair added that there is a growing demand for models that seamlessly blend creative services with distribution and commerce functionalities.

This acquisition comes shortly after Komerz's previous purchase of Pathformance, which significantly bolstered its analytics and performance-measurement capabilities. Komerz is currently valued at approximately $330 million and operates across various regions, including the UK, Europe, Asia, and North America. The newly combined platform aims to support both multinational corporations managing extensive global brand portfolios and emerging direct-to-consumer brands seeking to expand into new markets.

Overall, the acquisition of Glassbox by Komerz not only signals a strategic move to enhance its offerings for brands operating in the digital commerce space but also showcases the growing trend of integrating creative services with e-commerce capabilities to meet the demands of today's marketing landscape.
