Colony Group Expands with Acquisition of Type + Pixel, Enhancing AI Capabilities

Colony Group has announced its acquisition of Type + Pixel, a prominent brand experience innovation agency, on February 24, 2026. This acquisition marks a significant milestone in Colony’s rapid growth and expansion strategy across Australia. Over the past 18 months, Colony Group has established itself as Queensland’s largest independent agency and the largest in the South Pacific.

The acquisition of Type + Pixel reinforces Colony’s commitment to strengthening its fully integrated agency model while broadening its national footprint. Type + Pixel becomes the fourth brand to join Colony Group’s expanding suite of integrated marketing services, joining Creative Outpost, Orange Digital, and Colony Agency.

Type + Pixel is renowned for its expertise in brand innovation and AI-driven creativity. The agency has been at the forefront of delivering immersive and future-focused brand experiences. Notably, Type + Pixel Founder and Director Darren Walls will join Colony Group as a Managing Partner, continuing to service Type + Pixel clients while expanding the group’s AI and brand innovation capabilities.
