Billion Dollar Boy makes its first acquisition with B2B creator shop Creator Authority

Billion Dollar Boy has spent years helping consumer brands work with creators. Its first ever acquisition is a bet that business buyers are next.

The creator marketing group, founded in London and with offices in New York, has bought Creator Authority, a B2B creator agency with teams in Los Angeles and Austin. The deal was announced on 14 October. Terms were not disclosed, though Dealroom describes it as an all-cash, multimillion-dollar deal with an earnout.

A young agency with a big client list

Brendan Gahan founded Creator Authority in 2023. It is not his first agency: he previously built influencer shop Epic Signal and sold it to Mekanism, where he became partner and chief social officer, as Net Influencer reports.

Creator Authority runs creator campaigns aimed at business audiences and is part of LinkedIn's Marketing Partner Program. Its clients include Amazon, Adobe, AT&T, IBM, Dropbox, HubSpot, Mastercard, Notion and Lovable.

It is small. Dealroom puts the team at around 15 people, set to grow to 30 to 40 as some Billion Dollar Boy staff move across and the business expands into New York and London.

Who does what now

Gahan becomes SVP of B2B at BDB Group, leading new business and market development. Co-founder Cassie Jackson becomes Group Account Director for B2B and looks after client delivery. Thomas Walters, BDB's co-founder and chief innovation officer, led the deal. James Creech of Quartermast advised Creator Authority on the sale.

BDB also plans to plug Creator Authority's work into Companion, its AI influencer marketing platform.

The numbers behind it

BDB says its global revenue grew 24% over the past 12 months and forecasts that it will pass $100 million in 2027. Founder and CEO Ed East called B2B "one of the most significant growth opportunities in creator marketing", in the announcement carried by Ads of Brands.

Gahan's view, shared with Net Influencer: "Over the past two decades, creators have transformed consumer advertising." B2B, he argues, is the next market to change.

Why it matters

Creator marketing has been one of the busiest corners of agency M&A this year. What makes this deal stand out is the niche. An agency founded only in 2023, with a sharp B2B focus and a blue-chip client list, was enough to tempt a scaled buyer into its first deal. For founders, specialism in a fast-growing channel can count for more than size.
